This week is one of the best weeks of the year in Jefferson County, as Restaurant Week is here and oh boy, do we get some amazing deals from some of the best local spots in the county. We were lucky enough to get to sample some of the offerings for next week, and our first stop on our culinary tour was the Bavarian Inn Resort & Brewing Company. The Bavarian is known for their German-inspired dishes, and with new executive chef Clem Tamasang putting his spin on the dishes, we were stoked to sample their Restaurant Week specials.

Price π²π²out of 5
You are not going to be able to beat the price for your meal this week. The Bavarian is doing a special β3 for $30β prefix menu, which includes an appetizer, main course, and dessert. This is going to be a highly sought after deal, so reservations are going to be strongly encouraged. There will be multiple options for appetizer, main, and dessert, so there will be a dish for everyone. Feel free to mix and match as your palette sees fit!

Ambience π§βπ³ π§βπ³ π§βπ³ π§βπ³ out of 5
The Bavarian is such as vibe. We love the Germanic architecture of the buildings on the property, the infinity pool is to die for, and the restaurant itself is elegant and classy, but not the least bit stuffy. There are multiple areas where you can sit down to enjoy your meal, and depending on where you sit, you may get a view of the Potomac, their in-house brewery, or the beautiful sloping grounds. No matter where you sit, the ambience is top shelf.

Food π₯©π₯©π₯©π₯© out of 5
Letβs get down to the food! We couldnβt try every single option on the Restaurant Week menu, but we were able to sample two appetizers and a main, including multiple sides. For the first appetizer, we got the massive soft pretzel with beer cheese sauce and mustard. The pretzel was hot, soft, and had the perfect amount of salt on it. The beer cheese was extremely thick, and the brown mustard had a major kick. If you want to start your meal off right, order the soft pretzel.

The next appetizer was the German spaetzle with gruyere cheese, Black Forest ham, and asparagus spears. This is the ultimate comfort dish, as you get the pillowy softness of the spaetzle (basically a German egg noodle), the savory cheese and ham combo, and the diced asparagus add a nice touch. This was my favorite dish of the day.

For the main, we got the chicken schnitzel (a flattened chicken patty, breaded and fried), red cabbage, and even more spaetzle. I had to stop myself from eating the entire schnitzel, as it was so tender and delicious. It definitely did not taste overly fried. The only piece of this I did not like was the red cabbage. Iβm usually a huge fan of cabbage, but this was way too floral for me. I much prefer something closer to sauerkraut, but that is just my personal preference.

While we didnβt get to sample these items, some other options you can select this week include a baked Brie appetizer, fish and chips, cavatelli pasta with pork ragu, and then a troika of amazing desserts β German Chocolate cake, sticky toffee pudding, and a vanilla bean creme brulee.
Experience ββββ out of 5
We have been lucky enough to go to the Bavarian a few times for events, but this was the first time I had gone to sample their own in-house menu. I love the Bavarian β it is such an integral part of the community that was my home for years when I attended Shepherd University. I cannot wait for you all to get to sample Chef Clemβs tasty creations during Restaurant Week!
