I am always excited to get to try local spots in our community, but one that I had really been looking forward to after learning about them is Stuckey’s (previously called Superior Market) off of 51 in Inwood. I had seen a lot of people talk about them, and even had tried them awhile back, but I was really excited to sample some more food items from their menu. I do not say this lightly, as there are so many amazing spots in our area, but Stuckey’s might be the best restaurant I have ever been to. I am a huge fan of soul food, so this is right up my alley.

Price 💲💲💲 out of 5
Let’s get one thing out of the way – Stuckey’s has some very high quality dishes, such as crab boils, ox tails, and jerk chicken. The price is higher than many places in the area, but that is because you are paying for elevated dishes you can’t find in very many restaurants across the Eastern Panhandle. No matter what you buy, it will absolutely be worth your money.
Ambience 🧑🍳🧑🍳🧑🍳🧑🍳 out of 5
Many people don’t realize that Stuckey’s actually has a pretty large dining area. There is ample room to enjoy your meal. While there isn’t a ton of decorating, everything is very clean and I love how you can watch the staff cook your meal with the open kitchen. They also have a full bar where you can get drinks. All in all, this is a nice, clean place to grab a meal and/or a drink.

Drinks 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷 out of 5
Stuckey’s has a ton of drink options, from your classic sodas to water and alcoholic beverages, but we were here for the homemade juices. We got to try the mango, blueberry, and strawberry and all of them were fresh and delicious.

Now let’s get to the food!
Jamaican Jerk Smashburger – I mean, c’mon. An insanely crispy and seasoned beef patty (with homemade seasoning), homemade jerk sauce, cheese, and it is served on coco bread.

Smashburger – Jerk not your style? The traditional smashburger has the same crispy patty with cheese and a soft pillowy bun.

Crab Boil – this is one of the most insane things I have ever tried. We got a tray filled with Dungeness Crab, shrimp, potatoes, corn, and hardboiled eggs, absolutely drenched in their garlic butter sauce that I swear was made by the Gods. Just a heavenly dish.

Potato Salad – the potato salad was so creamy and sprinkled with paprika.

Oxtail with Rice and Peas – another Jamaican staple, this ox tail is some of the most tender, decadent meat I have ever tried. It is fatty and rich, and the rice and peas cut perfectly through that.

Jamaican Jerk Chicken – the island vibes are strong here, with tender, spicy Jamaican Jerk chicken over a bed of seasoned rice.

Macaroni and Cheese – so creamy, with a hint of sweetness. This is one of the most unique mac and cheeses I have ever tried.

Yams – the yams were so tender and sweet. They added some cinnamon which wasn’t my personal favorite seasoning, but they were still very good.

Catfish – unreal fried catfish. The breading itself was the most flavorful I have ever tried, and then you get the tender, fatty meat of the catfish. They even drizzled honey butter on it. Insane dish.

Mambo Wings – the owner told us as a DC boy that he knows real Mambo sauce, and he wasn’t lying. This sauce hit all the right notes, and the wings themselves were massive and fried perfectly.

Crabcake – this crabcake had no filler whatsoever. It is just crab and binder (mayo and mustard plus a few other ingredients). When you can taste nothing but crab you know they are doing it right.

Experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5
All in all, this is why we started this Foodies mission. To highlight some of the delicious spots in the Eastern Panhandle. Since we launched the video, we have had so many people say they didn’t even know Stuckey’s was pumping out this insane food. I cannot wait to go back and try literally everything else we didn’t get to this visit!
