An inviting outdoor dining patio fronts a brick building with blue umbrellas shading empty tables and chairs, featuring storefront signage for Water Street Kitchen.

Water Street Kitchen: Gorgeous on the Outside, Welcoming on the Inside!

You’ve heard the expression “you eat with your eyes first,” right? Well, I feel like that starts with the restaurant, then the food!

On the more pricey side, in my opinion, but it makes sense for the quality of the dishes. Sometimes it takes a few more bucks for a lovely experience!

The building itself has me in awe, from the natural lighting brought in by the windows to the cute outside eating patio! Plus, I am a sucker for brick buildings, so I was a bit bummed when I missed out on Water Street Kitchen.

Animal Fries
These were cooked perfectly, not soggy or too crispy, topped with grilled onions, cheese sauce, crumbled bacon and scallions drizzled w/ 1000 island.

If you are familiar with the restaurant “N and Out,” then you’ll probably love these! My uncle said it reminded him of their animal fries, and I quote, “was here for it.”

Chicken and Waffles
Three buttermilk brined chicken fritters, Belgian waffle, & maple syrup w/ one side

My uncle opted for fresh fruit for his side, and he was very excited for this dish due to how nice and crispy the waffle looked. Personally, I am a softer waffle kind of girl, but no matter! He said, “They use a sweeter Belgian waffle, which we loved! Perfect balance of crispy and fluffy.” The poor chicken was “cooked to perfection, too.”

Did I mention they serve breakfast ALL DAY? Not too many places do that nowadays, sadly!

A plate of mac and cheese alongside toasted bread topped with cured meat, served at an indoor dining venue.

NY Reuben
Thin-sliced NY-style corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, thousand island dressing on toasted marble rye w/ one side

For this one, he opted for the mac and cheese as a side instead. He sadly wasn’t too impressed with the mac and cheese, but the Reuben was a “classic,” overall, a good meal. I’m curious, are you a baked or a soupy kind of mac-and-cheese lover?

Sunday Chicken
Two buttermilk fried chicken fritters, lettuce, tomato, onion & pickle on a toasted brioche bun w/ one side

Fries were his choice of side for this one. The sandwich was a mouthful for sure, due to how large the chicken cutlet was. He enjoyed this as well, but man, was he full!

If you are craving some Southern delicacies and that old-timey brick aesthetic, we recommend adding this to your repertoire. I know I will be swinging by for that all-day breakfast, and maybe their pescatarian options.
