When we heard that Big Greek Cafe had opened up a new location in Leesburg, you know we had to make our way out to try it. We are huge fans of Mediterranean food, and we were pleasantly surprised to see that Big Greek Cafe had so many options, including some interesting flavor profiles that we have literally never seen before. From delicious dips and spreads, to full Greek feasts, to unique flavor combos like Honey Bay wings with tzatziki and Greek fries, this place is a culinary tour of the Mediterranean.

Price 💲💲out of 5
The prices at the Big Greek Cafe are reasonable, and the portions are definitely hearty! You can easily get an entire meal here (plus leftovers) for under $30, including an appetizer, main dish, and drink. Did you know they also cater? Their catering prices are extremely fair as well, so if you having a corporate event or get-together, I would highly recommend reaching out to them!

Ambience 🧑🍳🧑🍳🧑🍳🧑🍳 out of 5
As soon as we stepped into Big Greek Care, we were especially impressed with their branding and marketing. All of their menus were very aesthetically pleasing, the vibes were definitely friendly and fun, and there was plenty of room to enjoy your meal. The staff was accommodating and the service was fast. All in all, we had a grand ole time during this trip.

Let’s get down to why you are here – the food!
Trio Dip Sampler – this dish had tzatziki, hummus, and feisty feta, but you can choose whatever three dips you want. The tzatziki was herbaceous, the hummus was smooth, and the feisty feta definitely had a kick!

Dolmades – these stuffed grape leaves had aromatic rice and beef stuffed inside them, with tzatziki to dip. Grape leaves are inherently super bitter, but these weren’t overpowering. Very solid dish.

Gyro Pita – this thing was stacked with flavorful gyro (beef and lamb) meat, as well as plenty of fresh veggies, tzatziki, and feta cheese. Come hungry, as this was massive.

Souvlaki Pita – similar to the gyro, but this was packed with marinated pork meat. Something a little different you usually see at Greek spots.

Big Greek Feast – this thing was fully loaded with pork and chicken skewers, as well as another gyro pita. Definitely bring friends to share with for this feast.

Famous “Big Greek” French Fries – have you ever had crispy fries with crumbled Feta, greek herbs, and tzatziki to dip? You better head on down to the Big Greek Cafe ASAP to try them if you haven’t already.

Honey Bay Wings – I can probably guarantee that none of you have ever had wings drenched in baklava syrup and Old Bay seasoning. What an incredible flavor profile. These are top 5 wings I have ever had in my entire life! And pro tip: dunk them in tzatziki!

Quick Vegetarian break to hear from Marysol!
Heyo! Marysol here to hit you with the latest on the greatest hidden gems for us veggie lovers! Also, a shoutout to Ryan for letting me share the goodies with y’all. Welcome, Ryan, to our veggie escapades! He is now gluten-free, and will be indulging in a lot of our adventures in finding accommodations in our local restaurants!
Spanakopita
This consisted of spinach and feta wrapped in crispy filo dough.
Just as the description states on their website, this was indeed “baked to perfection!” Now if you have been keeping up with our blogs, especially those written by me, you know I give my honest opinion. If you order the spanakopita, will you enjoy it….heck yeah! Is it extremely oily….unfortunately yes, but that doesn’t take away from its deliciousness!
I loved it the day we ordered it, and the other night when I reheated my leftovers for supper! This could just be a me thing, but I feel like spanakopita is not just a fun word to say, but is a universal dish. I had mine breakfast style for dinner, with eggs and fresh fruit, and boy oh boy, was it just as great as the first time I had it! If you are wondering, no, the dough did not become unbearably hard after a few minutes out of the microwave.

Big Greek Bowl
This was layered with rice, red cabbage, carrots, fresh greens, red onions, tomatoes, lemon olive oil vinaigrette, house made tzatziki, red pepper hummus and pita on the side. *Gluten-free when served without pita.
I opted for falafel as my protein, and oh my lanta, I truly LOVED it! This bowl was so fresh and light, colorful, flavorful, gorgeous to look at, and very filling! The falafel had a little kick to it, and I was here for it! My fiance enjoyed the taste he had, and wanted more and more. Of course, when we go, he will opt for a meat option, but that’s the great thing about restaurants that accommodate both meat and veggie lovers! The Big Greek Cafe has so many options for us veggie lovers to choose from, and will definitely be on my rotation! Until next time!

Back to the desserts!
Baklava – as Marysol said, I am unfortunately now gluten-free, so I did not get to partake in the desserts, but everyone agreed that the baklava had such a nice, sugary taste with crispy dough, and the walnuts added some nuttiness.

Baklava cheesecake – cheesecake is something I can still eat if I work around the crush, so I was able to try a bit of the filling of this, and my oh my was it good. Cheesecake is rich and needs to be eaten in small doses, but I would highly recommend something like this over the monstrosities you get at the Cheesecake Factory.

Experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5
Overall, this was one of our best experiences on the Foodies journey so far! I love Greek food, and you could tell that the owner understands his Greek roots while also not being afraid to experiment with different flavor profiles. As a fellow marketing person, I really respected how they have branded themselves. Everything is clean and you can tell that the owner is not only a culinary expert, but also a businessman as well. Really excited to visit them again soon!
