AW Shucks Seafood Shack: A Darn of a Good Time!

I totally copied what the front sign said, but it indeed was a good time! AW Shucks Seafood Shack, from the look of it, seemed like a solid choice when looking for light seafood options.

Not much of a looker inside. It’s cute with its decor playing on the fisherman decor vibe, and I love the unintentional medieval look on the exterior, from the stone building to the hanging sign!

I am not an oyster girly, but my uncle enjoyed these to the max! “They went down easy and smooth, and were fresh!”

Popcorn shrimp is always bomb! I mean even the Grinch would agree, if you know you know! What concerned me was the potato salad…

Now, keep in mind that I did not have any of these, so the flavors could have been world-changing, but it did not look all that great to me. And I’ve said it before: you eat with your eyes first and foremost. My uncle said it was good, though, so you’ll just have to try it for yourself and find out.

Spicy Shrimp Taco (w/potato salad)
These looked really good, and the shrimp looked like it was seasoned well. I love me some shrimp tacos, but that potato salad, y’all…

Someone for real will have to tell me how it tastes, because it looks like a scoop of tuna salad. I like tuna salad, but even that one doesn’t look too appetizing.

These looked good as well, and I like that they switched it up with a lettuce wrap!

Also, who has been to a restaurant where you ordered a lettuce wrap thinking you would get something like this, only to get two small hamburger-style pieces of lettuce that do not hold your fillings. Makes me so mad!

Based on everything my uncle told me, I am assuming he had a good time! He found everything to be super fresh and full of flavor. Plus, their outdoor seating made it the perfect laid-back lunch spot. What are your thoughts: is this a hidden gem and I am being too harsh, or, like a fish, is it a flop?
