As a Winchester resident and Foodies expert, it is kind of embarrassing to say that there are a handful of restaurants on the Winchester Walking Mall that I have never dined at. My goal is to cross every restaurant off that list by the end of the summer. Last week, we took a trip out to Sabai Thai Winchester for some amazing authentic Thai food. There are a lot of great options for Thai food in the Eastern Panhandle and surrounding areas, and Sabai Thai is a heavy player in that game.
Price 💲💲💲out of 5
The pricing at Sabai Thai is very standard for the Thai places around the area. Most entrees are in the $15 to $25 range, and the apps are around $10. All portion sizes are very fair, so there is plenty of value no matter what food you order. For three adults, our bill ended up being around $50 which is more than reasonable considering we got multiple entrees and multiple appetizers.

This spot is super clean and decorated beautifully. There are bright colors and traditional Thai decorations throughout the restaurant. The service is also top notch, as our waiter was really funny and witty to boot. We felt very taken care of and have no complaints with our dining experience.

I love authentic Thai food, so I was so excited to try this menu. Here are the dishes we tried:
Thai Sampler – this dish came with chicken Satay, crispy spring rolls, fried tofu, pan-fried dumplings, and fried calamari. The Satay came with an amazing peanut sauce, and the spring rolls, dumplings, and calamari were fried beautifully. The tofu was terrible, but that is because I cannot stand the taste or texture. No offense to our Vegan friends!

Drunken Noodles – my all time favorite Thai dish, I asked for medium spicy and it was perfect. So much tender chicken, sauteed veggies, and incredible noodles. I always go for this dish, and Sabai Thai did not disappoint.

Egg fried rice – we got a side of fried rice, and it was very flavorful and tender. Rice is a very “meh” dish for me, but this one was solid.

Chicken Pad Thai – the most standard Thai dish, it is incredibly hard to mess it up, and Sabai Thai delivers. Great peanut flavor, tender noodles, and perfectly pan-fried chicken.

As I go on this culinary journey through Old Town Winchester, I’m so happy that my first stop was Sabai Thai. You can never get enough good Thai food, so I’m really happy to add Sabai Thai to my rotation for a delicious plate of Drunken Noodles. If you are on the lookout for a new Thai place to try, I would suggest taking a stroll down the Walking Mall and visit Sabai Thai soon!
