What’s a Tuesday without some tacos!
Coming from Latina roots, I am EXTREMELY picky about my Mexican food, and I am happy to say Express Taste La Tortuga did not disappoint! With their menu items ranging from Mexican to Salvadoran, it felt like I was feasting on my grandma’s cooking. My abuela would be happy, and that’s saying something!

My aunt and I went together and got two entrees, three extra sides, and two drinks, all for about $40! I’d say that’s pretty darn good, and the portions were perfect for sharing or enjoying for yourself!

It was a BEAUTIFUL DAY! The weather wasn’t too hot or too cold, the sun wasn’t beating down on us, and the clouds were fluffy and white with no signs of rain. Nothing better than great weather and some delicious tacos!
They have an outside seating area with cute picnic tables and umbrellas attached to protect you on those hot days! The staff were very kind, and our food took no time to arrive!

Bean and Cheese Pupusas
I have been CRAVING good pupusas, and now I have a spot I can hit up at any time, or, depending on where you live, DoorDash! This was super cheesy and had the right cheese to bean ratio! I could definitely eat hundreds of those alone if my body would allow it.
Al Pastor Tacos
For those who are new to reading my blogs, I do not eat meat and represent the veggie lovers out there. My aunt, however, does, and I want to include her feedback so meat eaters can know of this tasty food truck!
She truly enjoyed her three tacos! She said the meat was very flavorful and both the green and red salsas complemented the dish well. The red salsa was a bit on the spicy side for her, so if you are someone who can’t take the heat, be cautious of how much you use!
Veggie Fajita Quesadilla
This massive quesadilla was not only stuffed, but larger than I expected, with another layer underneath. The veggies were seasoned wonderfully. Needless to say, I only made it halfway through before needing to pack the rest for later.
Side of Black Beans
What is Latin food without beans! All beans are yummy, and these were no exception! The black beans were not overly seasoned or salty. You should pair these with whatever you order!
Fried Plantains
These were so so so so good! Not mushy, or fried to the point where they are too rubbery to eat. I absolutely LOVE plantains and will definitely be ordering these again. I highly recommend you do the same!
