By now you will probably get the hint that we are an ice cream family.  Luckily, as Winchester residents, there are so many ice cream places to try out.  Last week, we went to New Town Creamery in Stephen City (I-81 Exit 307) to celebrate the end of the school year, and this place did not disappoint.  It was absolutely poppin’ at 8 pm, so you know it is pumping out quality ice cream and other sweet treats.

Price 💲out of 5

The pricing at New Town Creamery is more than reasonable.  All three of us got something for about $11, which is unheard of in today’s economy.  And the portions aren’t tiny either.  For most of their items, their large is anywhere from $6 to $7.  For those that only want a small treat, expect to pay between $3 and $4 for most items.

Ambience 🧑‍🍳🧑‍🍳🧑‍🍳 out of 5

Like a lot of the local ice cream stands in the area, New Town Creamery only has outdoor seating.  They have plenty of picnic tables to probably seat between 40 and 50 guests at once, so it definitely can accommodate more people at one time than most places.  It’s right against a pretty major roadway, though, so just keep in mind that cars will constantly be flying by you if you are eating outside.  The stand itself is very colorful and seemed very clean from what I could see.

Food 🥩🥩🥩🥩 out of 5

New Town Creamery actually has some hot food options like chicken tenders and hot dogs, but we were only there for a sweet treat.  Robbie got a small shaved ice with a scoop of ice cream at the bottom (replicating a gelati from Rita’s), and it was really good.  She got cake batter ice with vanilla ice cream and it was a really solid combination.  My little one got her patented cotton candy flavor burst over vanilla ice cream, and she ate every bite.  Ironically, I was not in the mood for any ice cream this evening, but I saw something I had to try, which was flavor bursts added to drinks.  I went with a Starry and had them add dragon fruit flavor.  They have a ton of frozen drinks that I want to try next time, but adding the dragon fruit flavor to the Starry was a unique twist and it truly was bursting with flavor.

Experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5

New Town Creamery is another solid spot in our area where they are just consistent and delicious every time.  As a restaurant, one of the compliments I would want to receive is that no matter what time of day or who was working there, the customer got a consistently great experience.  Can safely say, as we have been there a handful of times, that New Town Creamery nails this.  You cannot go wrong if you choose this spot for your sweet tooth craving!
