We are very lucky that there are a handful of superb Thai restaurants in the Eastern Panhandle and surrounding areas. Thai Martinsburg has been a staple in the downtown Martinsburg area for awhile now, and we can see why. The Foodies team traveled to Thai Martinsburg to sample some of the food and drink options that they have, and we were blown away by the food, the presentation, and most notably, the incredible hospitality shown by the owner, chefs, and staff. It was a fantastic time!

Price 💲💲💲out of 5
The prices at Thai Martinsburg are on par with comparable Thai restaurants in the area. They have a very large menu, so depending on what you are in the mood for will determine how much you are spending. Nothing is overpriced, and there are no cutting corners with these dishes – the portions are more than enough, and expertly crafted. One thing that really stood out to me was the care they put into the menu – there are detailed pictures of every dish, which is such a smart idea, as many people prefer visuals for dishes that may be foreign to them.

Ambience 🧑🍳🧑🍳🧑🍳🧑🍳🧑🍳 out of 5
Thai Martinsburg sure knows how to treat their patrons well. We featured a ton of dishes and drinks, and the entire process was so well orchestrated by the staff. They were communicative, patient as we filmed and took photos of everything, constantly offered us drink refills and checked to make sure we were doing good, and even provided us with some small gifts. We felt so welcomed there, and I was extremely impressed with how in unison the whole team was. As far as the restaurant, there is plenty of traditional Thai artwork and decor throughout, comfortable seating, and they have an outdoor seating area as well for when the weather is warm. All in all, we felt so welcomed.

Drinks 🍷🍷🍷🍷 out of 5
The drink list that we got to try was extensive. Here are the highlights:
Thai iced tea – a staple in traditional Thai cuisine, the team raved about how creamy and flavorful it was.

Thai iced coffee – this hit the spot! I loved how flavorful this was without being overpowering. Light and refreshing. Fun fact, they boil their coffee instead of brewing it.

Spicy mango margarita – not overly spicy, but very refreshing. I love the taste of mango.

Raspberry fizz – very fizzy and gave off a Shirley Temple vibe. Great drink if you want something lighter and not as potent.

Bangkok Mule – an elevated version of the Moscow Mule. This one was extremely refreshing.

Blue motorcycle – such a fresh and delicious drink. Definitely gives off beach vibes. Another drink that had a flavor profile and didn’t taste like straight up alcohol.

Old Fashioned – the presentation was incredible, coming out smoked. The bourbon goes down so smoothly.

Espresso martini – this was my favorite drink of the day. Such a robust, beautiful coffee flavor. Again, not overly strong. I love that they focus on the flavors instead of blindly pouring alcohol into their drinks.

Mojito – minty, fresh, with a strong melon flavor. Tasted like biting into the freshest honeydew.

We also got to sample a ton of their authentic Thai dishes, including some appetizers, entrees, and a dessert. Highlights below:
Papaya salad – this appetizer hit, a perfect combo of spicy chili with refreshing fruits and veggies. I loved the flavor profile.

Beef salad – a fragrant and citrusy salad with tender beef. A light and refreshing way to start off a meal.

Lemongrass soup – this soup hits you with a fragrant bomb of lemongrass. This is the perfect cup of soup on a colder day. The shrimp were so tender as well.

Drunken noodles with shrimp – my all time favorite Thai dish, the noodles were so tender, the shrimp were huge and flavorful, and all the veggies added that perfect freshness. I would typically order mine spicier than how they made it, but luckily you can completely customize your spice options here!

Soft-shell crab Pad Thai – wow, what a decadent dish. I had never had soft-shell crab before, but this was so good. I am always worried that soft-shell crab will leave pieces of crunchy shell in each bite, but that was not the case. It was cooked perfectly and paired so well with the Pad Thai.

Zesty chili garlic tilapia – I am a huge fish fan, so this was a great dish for me. I love the fragrant punch of chili and garlic combined, and the fish was lightly fried so the meat really was able to stand out.

Sweet and sour pork – very tender pork cutlets drowned in tangy sauce. Really nice combo.

Crab fried rice – one of the best fried rice dishes I have ever had. This dish was packed full of tender lump crab meat.

Krapow beef – beef and broccoli is such a great combination. The beef was very tender and the broccoli just pairs so well with it. I love when broccoli still has a little crunch but clearly isn’t just served raw.

Khao Soi – I had never even heard of this dish until they brought it out, and wow. Fall-off-the-bone tender chicken swimming in a coconut curry soup with perfectly tender noodles.

Lava chicken – Thai Martinsburg lava chicken rivals what Steve from Minecraft can make. This dish was only mildly spicy, but it was served literally flaming and had such a great char on it.

Mango sticky rice – we finished our meal off trying a traditional Thai dessert, mango sticky rice. It wasn’t my flavor profile with the sweetened condensed coconut milk, but it was very refreshing and the mango was so good.

Experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5
As you can see, our trip to Thai Martinsburg truly was an experience. We tried so many different dishes and drinks that we felt like we needed to roll out of the restaurant. I’m so happy I got introduced to some new Thai dishes I had never had before, and I now have a newfound love of softshell crab and Khao Soi. I have been here a couple times, but I will definitely have to come back to try some of the other dishes I haven’t had yet.
