I have been lucky enough to try Food By Fire’s catering before, so when we got invited out to their new physical location in Hedgesville, I was extremely excited about trying all their amazing food. They are doing things right here, with massive portions, perfectly smoked meats, and crazy combinations that leave you wondering why you hadn’t tried their food earlier.

Price 💲💲 out of 5
All the pricing at Food By Fire is more than reasonable. All of the sandwiches are around $15, and they are absolutely massive. You are absolutely getting an incredible bang for your buck here, for example the hot dog is $15, but it is one of biggest hot dogs you will ever see in your life. You can even get BBQ meat by the pound, including pork, turkey, and brisket, all for under $25.

Food By Fire’s new spot is best for takeout, as there aren’t many places to sit and eat. The inside is just for ordering, but it is extremely clean and organized, and they have a ton of awesome merch for sale. They also have a fridge full of soups, stews, sauces, and other items, as well as a pastry area with incredible cookies, danishes, and other sweet treats. There is an area to eat outside, so this would be a fun spot to hang out when the weather is nice. They smoke all their meats on site, so you can smell the BBQ as soon as you pull up.

Let’s get down to the food:
Smash burger – my goodness, this burger is decadent and delicious. You get two smashed patties, cheese, pickles, onions, and their famous house sauce.

Chopped brisket sandwich – this thing is loaded with chopped brisket. Every bit is full of succulent brisket, creamy queso, and crunchy tortilla sticks.

Fried turkey sandwich – just a preposterously large sandwich. The piece of fried turkey is so massive that it hangs off both sides of the bun quite significantly. This can feed an entire army.

Foot long piggy back dog – if the turkey sandwich isn’t big enough for you, then you gotta try their foot long hot dog. I have never seen a thicker hot dog than what they serve at Food By Fire. Bring about 45 friends to split this with.

Wings – their smoked wings with house-made dry rub are just perfect. Smoked wings are tricky, as the flavor is phenomenal, but they can get dried out if not done correctly. These are juicy and the flavor goes right down to the bone.

Coffee BBQ burnt ends – the parade of meat was getting ridiculous at this point, but these might have been my favorite thing on the menu. Just incredible flavor with that slight hint of coffee beans.

Bee sting Brussels – ever had fried Brussels Sprouts before? You need to. Not only are they crispy, but the bee sting sauce actually has a kick. These pack a punch for sure.
