Did you know that there is a completely gluten-free bakery off of Hedgesville Road, about halfway between Hedgesville and Martinsburg? Gourmet Goddesses is the only 100% gluten-free bakery in the Eastern Panhandle, and we were so excited to try their baked goods. I was a little nervous about everything still tasting good, but I could not have been more surprised with how delicious everything tasted. You could not tell that everything is gluten-free!

Price 💲💲 out of 5
The menu at Gourmet Goddesses isn’t extensive, but every item is crafted with love (and absolutely no gluten)! Nothing is overly expensive, with their drinks averaging about $3 (coffee and teas) and their baked goods running between $2 and $5 a piece. They also offer package deals, where you can get half a dozen cookies for $12 and half a dozen cupcakes for $24.

Ambience 🧑🍳🧑🍳🧑🍳🧑🍳 out of 5
Gourmet Goddesses isn’t huge, but it has a really awesome vibe. The owners are so friendly and are very knowledgeable about making sure they are following all of the requirements to remain 100% gluten-free. There is actually a ton of science that goes into the gluten-free environment, and they have all the rules and regulations down perfectly. When they say they are 100% gluten-free, they legally mean it!

Let’s get down to the food we got to sample:
Cookies and Cream Cupcake – this decadent cupcake wasn’t dry or artificial tasting at all. The cupcake part was very moist and flavorful, and the whipped topping was perfect. They even added an Oreo cookie on top to finish it off perfectly.

Cinnamon Roll – I am not usually a huge fan of cinnamon rolls, because I feel they are usually dried out, but the entire cinnamon roll tasted like the very center. Decadent cinnamon and sugar coated the entire roll, and it was covered in cream that wasn’t overly sweet, which cut through the sweet cinnamon roll.

Chocolate Chip Cookie – again, these cookies did not taste gluten-free at all. They were soft and tasted exactly like a chocolate chip cookie should taste. I was floored at how well they replicated the flavor of a cookie with gluten.

Experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5
As someone who has a child who has food allergies, it warms my heart to know that there are places in our area that serve those populations. The cool part about gluten-free treats are they don’t have to be for those with gluten allergies or sensitivities. People without food allergies can still enjoy Gourmet Goddesses’ treats since you cannot tell the difference between their products and what you would get from a non-gluten-free bakery.
