Tucked away in the quaint town of Harper’s Ferry is a new cafe that is one of the coziest places I have ever been. The Appalachian Snail Cafe is a relatively new cafe on Washington Street that is serving up soup, sandwiches, and coffee drinks that are literal pieces of art. This is such a cool place to go to get a little work done, sit by the fire, and sip a delicious latte or snack on a perfectly crafted sandwich.

Price 💲 out of 5
You cannot beat the prices at Appalachian Snail Cafe. For $10 dollars, you can get a full soup and sandwich meal, and for just a few dollars more you can have an expertly crafted coffee drink or a scoop of ice cream. They also offer a ton of local grocery products for sale, such as meat from Crestview Meat Market, organic spices and cooking ingredients, soup mixes, jerkies, and all kinds of other healthy products.

Ambience 🧑🍳🧑🍳🧑🍳🧑🍳🧑🍳 out of 5
This might be the coziest and most comforting place I have been yet on this Foodies journey. The ambience is absolute perfection, especially during the colder months. The fire is nice and warm, and you just feel like you could set up shop and live here once you take a seat. I also love the addition of all of the locally sourced grocery items for sale. 10/10 would highly recommend you do a work from home day here in the future!

Drinks 🍷🍷🍷🍷 out of 5
We tried two coffee drinks while we were there.
Iced latte – this drink was perfect for iced coffee lovers like myself. Creamy, not too sweet, but with a perfect balance of vanilla and espresso. They also offer a handful of dairy alternatives which is always a welcome site.

Hot latte – the drink itself was really good, but it is the presentation that makes this drink. The owner is an accomplished barista, and he made some awesome latte art for us. This is the perfect drink on those cold winter days in Harper’s Ferry.

Now let’s get down to the food items we got to try:
Turkey Club – this sandwich was absolutely loaded with turkey breast, swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, and a spicy aioli, served on housemade bread. The sandwich was massive and flavorful, and would be the perfect pick-me-up after a long hike up Maryland Heights.

Grilled Cheese – they use three different types of cheeses, and instead of butter, they make the right choice and use mayonnaise before crisping up the grilled cheese on a panini press. The cheese pull is epic, and the blend of cheeses goes crazy.

Experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5
The biggest thing I love about Appalachian Snail Cafe is they aren’t trying to do too much or be something they are not. This is a spot where you can find amazing coffee, great sandwiches, and hearty soups, plus a few other treats like ice cream or bagels (from Bagel Chicks, another local business they partner with)! They have an ambience that is tough to match as well, and everything about this place is also what makes Harper’s Ferry such a quaint town. I can’t wait to go back and get some more of these blogs written while sipping on a latte!
