Tucked away in the heart of Transylvania, ahem, Hagerstown is one of the coolest spots I have ever been to. Dracula’s Kitchen and Bar is a new restaurant on Robinwood Drive, right next to Meritus Health. As soon as you step in, you feel like you have been transported to Dracula’s Castle in Transylvania. As someone whose all time favorite book is Bram Stoker’s Dracula, this was such an amazing experience for me. If that wasn’t enough, we got to link up with Hagerstown Eats to do a collaboration, which was such a fun experience.

Price 💲💲 out of 5
Even though Dracula’s Kitchen and Bar has some higher level dishes that you don’t see in most restaurants, their pricing is more than fair. Most of the appetizers run between $10 and $15, but they are more than generous with their portion sizes. The main entrees are in the $20 – $30 range, but again, very filling and you will definitely have leftovers. They also have some lighter fare, like sandwiches, wraps, and salads that are all under $20. You can definitely get an affordable meal here.

Ambience 🧑🍳🧑🍳🧑🍳🧑🍳🧑🍳 out of 5
I have been to some incredibly themed restaurants, but Dracula’s Kitchen and Bar is in my current Top 2 for best ambience in the area. Sure, I may be biased because I absolutely love everything to do with Dracula and vampires (real vampires, not Twilight)! And if you thought there was no way a place that leans heavily into the horror theme couldn’t get any better, they also have massive tvs and projectors, simultaneously broadcasting major sporting events along with horror movies throughout the day. This is the ultimate spot for someone who loves theming and wants a great place to watch the biggest sporting events.

Let’s get down to the food:
Calamari – I love calamari rings, and this was prepared perfectly. The calamari was tender, not chewy, and the breading was light but extremely flavorful. You could taste the seasoning in the batter.

Anti-Vampire Garlic Bites – exceptional theming here, as these garlic bites would keep all the vampires away. They were cheesy and had the perfect amount of garlic.

Vlad’s Impaler Mici – I had never even heard of this traditional Romanian dish, but I really liked it. The Mici reminded me of Mediterranean kabobs.

Castle Feast Leg – this dish is an entire smoked turkey leg, served with a side and your choice of sauce. For my Disney fans out there, if you know you know. Everyone needs to eat a smoked turkey leg at least once in your life.

Experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5
This was such a fun experience. While Romanian food isn’t necessarily at the top of the list of national cuisines, I was pleasantly surprised with the flavors of their traditional dishes. The theming here is incredible, and this is definitely a spot that I will want to go to watch the next big sporting event. Dracula’s Kitchen and Bar is an absolute must for anyone who is looking for something different.
