Did you know that Cielito Lindo isn’t just a food truck?  They have a physical location inside the Valley Mall in Hagerstown, MD.  They are one of the premier spots in the area to get Birria, as they have nearly a dozen items that incorporate Birria, including tacos, burritos, and even ramen!  As a huge Birria fan, this is my go to spot for my favorite Mexican dish.

Price 💲💲 out of 5

The prices at Cielito Lindo are comparable to any other Mexican spot in the area.  They have a massive menu, so you can get smaller snack items like empanadas and pupusas, massive concoctions like Maryland’s Largest Birria Taco and the insane Birria Pizza, and everything in between.  There is absolutely no shortage of items to choose from at Cielito Lindo, so I would highly suggest that you bring your appetite and a small army with you!

Ambience 🧑‍🍳🧑‍🍳🧑‍🍳 out of 5

Unfortunately the ambience isn’t great with them being at the Valley Mall in Hagerstown. I have nothing against the mall, but mall food courts sadly have a pretty negative connotation associated with them.  Their spot was clean and well kept for sure.  I do think the service could have been a little quicker as well.  All in all, sitting in a mall food court to enjoy this food just doesn’t seem right.  A brick and mortar Mexican restaurant with traditional Mexican theming, combined with all their Birria dishes, would really hit.

Drinks 🍷🍷🍷🍷 out of 5

We got to try all of their agua frescas, and these drinks were so refreshing.

Pina – this one made me feel like I was sitting on a beach in paradise.  I’m not usually a coconut fan, but I could drink this every day.

Jamaica – not the country, but a delicious drink regardless.  I loved the floral punch of the hibiscus.  This was such a treat to enjoy.

Horchata – full disclosure, I did not try this one.  There is something about Horchata that I just do not enjoy.

Let’s get down to the food!

Esquites con Cheetos – they serve a handful of different Mexican street corn dishes, and we got the Esquites with Hot Cheetos served in a cup.  Not my thing, but I love the options they provide.

Nachos Grande – this heaping pile of nachos was piled high with your choice of protein (Birria included), and any and all toppings you wanted to add.  We got ours loaded up with beef, queso, sour cream, lettuce, corn salsa, jalapenos, verde sauce, and shredded cheese.  This plate was enough to feed an entire family.

Maryland’s Largest Birria Taco – honestly, this taco is obscene.  The size of a newborn baby, this will only set you back $21.  It is well worth it.  It is cheesy and the Birria is so flavorful.

Empanadas – we tried each of the empanadas.  The options are Beef, Chicken, and Chorizo and Cheese.  All of them were solid, with the chorizo being my favorite.

Birra Ramen – the star of the show, their Birria ramen is insanely good.  I will come back here many times just for this dish.  The consomme elevates this dish to new heights.  One of the best dishes I have had yet on this Foodies adventure.

Experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5

All in all, we had a great experience at Cielito Lindo.  The location isn’t ideal, but the food is on point.  They are absolutely the kings of the Birria game in the local area.  You cannot find better quality and variety anywhere around the Eastern Panhandle. If you are a Birria fan, the trip up to Valley Mall is absolutely worth it.
