This place is indeed SWEET!
At Layers Bakery and Café, they have every dessert you can dream of, including the viral fruit pastries that could fool anyone at first glance, but taste even better than they look! That’s not all they offer though; they also have some tasty lunch options, like their “Fish Fry Sandwich,” which is definitely on my list to try.

The prices are reasonable, not too expensive, especially for the quantity and quality. That goes for both the desserts and the hot meal items!

Layers is in the process of fully taking over and renovating the building they’re in, so everything isn’t exactly how they want it just yet. However, that doesn’t take away from the cute, inviting atmosphere they’ve already created!

Once you see how perfect these desserts look, you’ll want to try everything, I know I did! Unfortunately, my wallet had other plans.
Fruit Pastries
They had so many options, it was hard to choose, but I’m happy with the ones I tried. Each pastry was filled with a mousse matching the fruit it was designed after, and they all looked incredibly realistic!
Banana
This one would make the Minions proud! With its little “bruise” details adding to the illusion, it looked just like a real banana. It tasted exactly like banana pudding, which I loved.
Apple
This one looked straight out of Snow White, like the perfect apple you’d give to a teacher. I’m usually not a fan of apple-flavored desserts, but this had a subtle apple flavor with bits of applesauce in the mousse, which added a nice texture.
Coffee Bean
This was my least favorite, but I still enjoyed it. If you like tiramisu, this one is definitely for you! It had that same smooth texture and classic flavor.
Lemon
This one was my favorite by far! I love lemon-flavored desserts, and this did not disappoint. I do wish it had a bit more of that tart, sour kick, but it was still delicious.
Whole Cakes
Strawberry Shortcake
This cake was so nostalgic, the first bite took me right back to my childhood! It had a light strawberry flavor, even with real strawberry pieces inside. I was worried it might be too sweet, but it was perfectly balanced. I highly recommend this for your next celebration!
Oreo Peanut Butter Chocolate
Two amazing flavors in one, what’s not to love? I’m the type of person who adds Oreos to my peanut butter chocolate shakes anyway, so this was right up my alley. Neither flavor overpowered the other, it was the perfect blend.
