I don’t know if it was the gorgeous day or the killer designs from color to decor, but Rippon Tavern was a sight to behold. You’d think the butterflies were paid actors the way they kept popping up while we were there! The flower display was beautiful too; overall, the ambience alone made it a place you’d want to visit!

Price π²π²π² out of 5
If you have ever been to a brewery, or even ordered drinks anywhere, honestly, then you know it can get pricey the more you order on top of the food and/or appetizers you add to your plate.
This was no different, but man, was the food worth every cent! Beyond filling portions, great flavors, and a lot of in-house creations like sauces and specific recipes, so you have no choice but to try them!

Okay, so aside from the food, what really hooked me was the vibe and the hospitality! Everyone was so welcoming and spoke to us like we were regulars! On top of that, the chef even came out and greeted his guests, including us. He shook our hands and told us to enjoy everything. I mean, nowadays you aren’t going to get that too often!
Y’all, this decor was everything. The outside had beautiful flowers and these nice round wooden tables with these nice black chairs, or stools if it was a high-top table. Plus, the lights above, that I know just look gorgeous at night! I feel like I don’t talk about this a lot, but there also was plenty of parking close by, or not too far, and they even had a wheelchair-accessible ramp, which I thought was beyond considerate!
Now for the inside, and once again, just wow! It gives this rustic vibe with the wooden decor, but the sage green to complement it is chef’s kiss! And because it is the fall season, they had these cute little squashes as table decor! They have bar seating, tables, and yes, even a half-booth, half-table, AND SO MUCH NATURAL LIGHTING! There were lots of big windows, and I am here for it!
It got a little toasty, I will say, but that could have been the Oktoberfest beers, hahahahha.

HOLY MOLY WAS THIS SPOT HITTING!!

The Frito Bandito
Consists of: quinoa, frijoles beans, salsa, guacamole, roasted corn salad, served on a bed of lettuce with Fritos
As you know, we do not play about our food here, especially when it is something centered for us veggie lovers! This salad was so scrumptious, I truly have no words! I could not breathe afterwards; I was so stuffed! The flavors of each component coming together with a slight crunch of the chips was the best combo of all!

The Hogfather
Consists of: smoked slow-and-low pulled pork sandwich with homemade coleslaw, served with onion rings and a pickle
Aside from the pulled pork, which my uncle enjoyed immensely, those onion rings and homemade sauce were soooooooo good! The onion rings were cooked so well, giving us the perfect crunch-to-soft onion ratio. The sauce had a kick, which I loved, a great side option for sure!
In the words of our beloved Ryan, coleslaw is coleslaw, hahahaha. You can’t go wrong with this side either. It was good for sure, and we aren’t excluding it just yet; keep reading and see what I mean!

The Gaucho
Consists of: Argentinian chinchurro, shredded lettuce, smoked provolone, salsa criolla, served with seasoned fries and a pickle
Once again, my uncle also enjoyed this burger, and the fries were bomb as well! Crispy shell, soft interior, and paired with the homemade sauce from the Hogfather, ooooouuuuuu, we couldn’t get enough!

Smoked Wings (w/Cuban rub)
Served with: carrots and celery
Both Ryan and my uncle said these were hands down one of the biggest wings they’ve seen and had! The rub was delicious, and the girth of the wing was well worth it.
I ate the carrots, hehehe, my favorite veggie actually. I also paired them with the homemade sauce from the Hogfather; that sauce was great with everything!

The Barn Burner
Consists of: pepper jack, fire-roasted jalapeΓ±os, sriracha mayo, shredded lettuce, served with sweet potato fries and a pickle
Ryan got this burger, and if you have been keeping up with our blogs, you’ll know he is not part of the gluten-free group, and we do not waste food over here, so someone had to eat the brioche bunβ¦ “All right, I confess! I did it, ya hear? And I’m glad, GLAD I TELL YA!!!” If you know the reference, I couldn’t be happier! In case you were wondering, I ate all the pickles too, hahaha.
Sweet potatoes, my absolute favorite! You know they were delicious, but here is a secret I want to share! Remember when I said to keep reading for about the coleslaw? Well, here’s the tea!
We were ultimately as big as a house and had lots of leftovers. What I did was save the sweet potato fries and the coleslaw and turn them into a tofu sloppy joe bowl, and boy oh boy, was it heaven! Saved me cooking time, and was a whole other fantastic meal, so in case you wanted a new veggie-lover recipe, there ya go!
Experience βββββ out of 5
I had the best time! The first thing, as soon as I stepped foot there, was: oh yeah, I am definitely coming back and bringing everyone I know! It is a perfect hangout spot: great food, good people, and for me, not a far drive, muwhahahhaa! It doesn’t get better than that!
